Terpene resin, also named polyterpene resin or pinene resin. It is a type of polymer which primarily consist of α pinene or β pinene of turpentine that are catalyzed by Falk's catalytic, and polymerized by positive ion. Terpene resin has many execllent features such as transparency, light color, non-toxic, resistence to dilute acid & alkali, insulativity, antioxidation and strong bonding. In the application of various types of adhesive products, compare with gum rosin and modified rosin, terpene resin has much more tackfiness, in addition to being used as tackifier, it also can be used as ameliorant for hot-melt material.
